Robots That Vacuum and Mop

Robots that vacuum and clean provide the convenience of cleaning dry and wet messes in one go, without having to switch devices. They can also save space in comparison to two separate units, particularly in smaller living areas.

A good combination bot should have impressive navigation and obstacles avoidance. Look for models that can automatically empty their bins, refill their water tank and machine-wash their mopping pads with an appropriate dock.

1. Eufy S1 Pro

It has a lot to offer at a modest price and is among the easiest robots we've tested to install. Unpacking the S1 Pro is simple, and a quick-start guide will have you up and running with a clean, complete dust bag, hard floor solution and water tank in no time at all.

The S1 Pro is an incredibly powerful machine that can vacuum and mop well. The mops spin at fast speeds and apply 2.2 pounds (1kg) of force, allowing for quick removal of dirt, pet hair and dried sticky spills. The vacuum comes with four power modes, a range of attachments and brushes, and a user-friendly application that lets you select the exact kind of cleaning you'd like for each room.

For instance, you can choose to have the robot take care of a thorough clean-up in the kitchen and living rooms but take it easy in the spare bedroom. The S1 Pro has excellent front collision sensors and smart navigation technology. It can detect small obstacles that other models can't. Its only issue is that the robot is known to smash into walls and objects at full speed. However an inspection of the history of cleaning in the app will show you exactly what the robot hoover and mop has accomplished, where it's moving, and what obstacles he has run into or avoided.

A large LCD screen on the docking station shows you when maintenance jobs need to be done including emptying the debris tray, and rinsing its dirty water tank. It is also able to mix detergent into the tank automatically by using a 600ml eufy solution.

Both the S1 Pro mop and vacuum have a long run time. The mop is able to run for 184 mins in Quiet Mode and the vacuum can last for 136 minutes in normal mode, before needing recharging or returning to the base. You can also view the entire cleaning information in the app, which is intuitively laid out and easy to understand although we would have liked to be able distinguish between a mop only vacuum and mop and vacuum clean when looking at a clean area in the history of cleaning.

2. Roborock S8 Pro Ultra

The Roborock S8 Pro Ultra, the latest version of Roborock's top-of-the-line best robot cleaner mop and vacuum, is the most up-to-date version. The model of this year features a double agitator built into its mopping pad. This improves the carpet cleaning capabilities of this model. The S8 Pro Ultra has an improved suction power that enables it to remove finer hairs and other debris other robotic cleaners might miss.

This Roborock model, like the other two I tested is equipped with infrared and 3D obstacle avoidance technology that helps it avoid obstacles such as walls, furniture and other obstacles. The S8 Pro Ultra goes one step further and incorporates dual cameras that can detect objects, determining if they are walls or other surfaces. It then can alter its direction in a way that is automatic and clean around the objects without missing a step.

It's the most expensive robot I've ever tested and it comes with the most features. Its sleek, angular design is eye-catching and it only has three physical buttons that include the power button which can also restart cleaning; a mop-only button that doubles as a child lock; and a home button to bring the robot back to its dock. The hinged lid opens to reveal a 350ml dustbin as well as a 200ml water tank. The water tank is self-emptying and the bin is auto-refilling.

The only downside I've found with this model is that its VibraRise mop pad mount isn't movable. Although you can change the mopping cloth (if necessary) however, it's a hassle to take off the mount itself to wash manually. I've noticed that any plush carpet that the robot vacuum reviews passes will come into contact with the rough Velcro-like fastener system on the mount, and could cause scratches.

The S8 Pro Ultra has a variety of smart features, including support for Google Home, Amazon Alexa and Siri. The Roborock app is where you can manage and set up these features. It also has maps and advanced mopping options. The app lets you schedule cleanings and track the battery's lifespan. But you'll need to jump through a few hoops in order to allow voice control with this model, which is a shame considering the quality of its performance.

3. Dreame X40

The Dreame X40 is an industry-leading robot vacuum and mop equipped with incredible suction power, sophisticated mowing capabilities, and innovative features. Its intelligent design allows you to personalize and efficiently clean while saving time.

The X40 is the first robot vacuum cleaner to provide 12,000 Pascals of cleaning power, which easily makes it one of the top alternatives available. This powerful vacuum is able to clean up pet hair, crumbs and other dry messes. It has a mop of excellent quality that can clean hard floors without the need for pads. Additionally, the X40 is very quiet during it's operation, producing only occasional bursts of noise when switching modes or when completing self-maintenance tasks.

The X40 has a side brush that is able to be extended and lifted. This allows it to reach into corners that are difficult to reach and clean curved furniture like table and chair legs. The best robot vacuum that mops is also able to reach under low-profile furnishings, making it an excellent choice for small apartments or condos. The side brush automatically swivels downwards when it detects wet spots, which is a nice feature that assists the X40 keep floors safe from damage caused by the frequent back-and-forth movement.

In contrast to other robots that solely focus on one task, the X40 can perform both vacuuming and mopping simultaneously or individually. It can also be programmed to eliminate areas with carpet and mop only hard floors or reverse the process. It can be controlled by the Dreame App or Alexa, Siri, or Google Home to ensure smooth voice-controlled operations.

The app is simple and easy to use and the X40's intelligent features are a breeze to install. Users can program the X40 to clean at specific times. It can also be adjusted to adjust suction power, alter modes, look at maps and floor plans, and manage mopping settings. The X40 will also track its progress and notify you when it's done.

The X40 is easy to maintain and comes with numerous features which make it a good choice for busy families. Its docking station automatically empties the dustbin into a large 3.2 L bin, cleans the mop pads, and refills them with fresh water and cleaning solution. It will also tell you if the mop pad is at its capacity to the max and notify you of the situation prior to it bursting.

4. L20 Ultra

The L20 Ultra is a high-end robot that is among the most expensive models available and comes with many additional features that set it apart. Its mops have a new feature called Smart DuoScrub that utilizes two mops that are high-speed to clean floors more thoroughly than the conventional method, and has an impressive suction power of 7,000Pa. This is more than the Roborock S8 Pro Ultra and Ecovacs Deebots T20 Omni. It can also vacuum up pet hair, dirt particles and remove spills and dirty spots.

The mops are also dried and cleaned inside the base station after each use. This is beneficial because it prevents mould and unpleasant odours from building up in the storage. It also makes the mop system more efficient. This is a feature has yet to be seen on other robot vacuums and mop models and could be a good way of keeping your home cleaner for longer.

There are many options, including the option to schedule cleanings and change preferences. They can be set through the app, or via direct buttons on the unit itself. The app is easy to use and has many options for customising your cleaning routine. It also comes with a number of features that aren't available on other robots, like the Clean Genius Mode, which automatically increases suction when it detects dust particles.

The L20 Ultra is also one of the most fashionable robots we've seen on market, with metallic and white design that looks elegant and classy. It's a little heavier than some of the other two-in-one robots on this list - at 4kg - but it's not obscenely heavy, and feels robust and well built. The mopping design is also excellent and the double-rotating mop works well on hard floors and in corners. The MopExtend feature lets them reach even 2mm below the baseboards.
