The best robot vacuum and mop Robot Hoover

The best robot hoover can clean and mop without requiring your attention, and it leaves your floors spotless. Its low cost and top-of-the-line features (such as dirt detectors) are positives.

Make sure you regularly inspect your robot's brushes for hair tangled and large particles, and wash them when required. Some models can also self-empty the onboard dustbin and deposit it in a larger bin located at the base. This helps reduce the amount of fine dust that gets released into the air.

1. Roomba Q5 Pro

The Q5 Pro, and its more expensive cousin, the Q7 Max Series are among the most powerful robotic vacuums we've tested. They feature top-of-the-line motors that can produce up to 5,500 Pascals of suction force. Like other iRobots with premium features (including the most powerful model), they use smart mapping to produce precise floorplans and avoid household obstacles like furniture legs. The robots also feature a feature called Carpet Boost which boosts its power when it detects dirt on the carpet.

The Q5 and Q7 Max Series both scored extremely well in our tests on floors that were bare, and they are particularly adept at cleaning hair from dogs. However, they have a few flaws that keep them from being our top choice. One of them is that the Q5's navigation doesn't include AI-powered obstacle avoidance, so it's prone to getting hung up on shoes and socks, and is unable to navigate tight spaces very well in our tests. It doesn't also have a camera that can see around corners.

Still, it's very good for those who want to save money on an Roomba from iRobot, and you have a mostly unfinished home or office. It's also very quiet and can work while you're at work, or going to school. The only thing it doesn't have that you won't find in the more expensive iRobot Roomba X30 is edge-to-edge vacuuming on floors that aren't clean. It's also less effective in mopping, using disposable wet wipes that don't stay on very well and can't deal with dried-on debris. The Q5 does come with self-emptying docks, however. And, if you need to change the mopping pad for dry ones in a matter of seconds.

2. iRobot Roomba X30

The iRobot Roomba X30 is a compact, sleek vacuum cleaner that can mop floors. Its smart cleaning maps and nimble navigation make it easy to clean, and efficient in tackling larger particles such as pet hair. It also comes with strong suction and an automatic bin for emptying. It's the most efficient robot hoover for carpets, though it lags behind some competitors in deep cleaning.

This top-performing mop and vacuum combination utilizes advanced sensors to stay clear of obstacles and pet waste and it learns the layout of your home over time for more efficient cleaning. The app lets you customize zones and change the cleaning schedule. It has a battery lifespan that is similar to other models.

You can tell the X30 Ultra to remove its mop and extend them when it's in a room with carpet to prevent cross-contamination. Its flex arm is ideal for getting under furniture that is low and along baseboards. It doesn't perform as well on the washboard as our other Editors' Choice Picks, the Ecovacs Ozmo N8Pro+ and the iRobot Combo j9+.

During tests, X30 Ultra was the quickest best robot vacuum vacuum/mop that could sweep the entire house, with 66 per cent of its battery remaining. It also did a great job cleaning a range of rooms and floors with different flooring types, including some area carpets. Its obstacle detection was top-of-the-line and it was nimbly avoiding fake dog socks, turds, and bundles of cables.

It's more expensive than iRobot Combo v9+ or iRobot Roomba j9+ but it has superior suction and an onboard bin that is automatically empty into the base. It also supports voice commands via Amazon Alexa and Google Assistant. It is able to clean floors even after it vacuums. This is a feature that we haven't seen in other robot vacuum/mop combination.

3. iRobot Roomba X40

With a sleek circular design that appears more like a normal Roomba than the competition's boxes This robot vacuum and mop combo is among the most attractive looking models in our evaluations. The latest model from iRobot is also its smartest. It features advanced features like Enhanced Dirt Detection as well as future compatibility (another company's robot that is able to wash mop pads on its own).

It's also the only robot vacuum that mops vacuum/mop to score an absolute 10 out of 10 in our testing. This is due to the combination of high-tech sensors, including a structured light system, camera and multiple lasers. The X40 Ultra was the only robot we tested that could refill and empty its basestation autonomously. It also boasted an industry-leading suction of 12,000Pa as well as self-cleaning mops.

The X40, like other iRobot products, is easy to use. It has an easy mobile application interface and is compatible with Amazon Alexa and Apple HomeKit. The only downside is that the X40 is still a loud unit. This can be a problem in mornings before work, or at night when you are trying to fall asleep.

It's also somewhat expensive, although it's not as expensive as the Ecovacs X2 Omni or Roborock S8 MaxV Ultra Both of which are equally powerful and more attractive. If you're willing some more volume and some extra cost, this is a very powerful two-in-one that will please almost everyone.

4. iRobot Roomba L20 Ultra

The L20 Ultra is a top-of-the-range robot vacuum and mop, with a lot of advanced features to help you forget about your chores. Like Ecovacs range-topping X2 Omni and Roborock's S8 Pro Ultra, the L20 is designed to be a hands-off cleaning machine that takes the care of mopping and vacuuming. It comes with a multi-function dock that automatically emptys the vacuum's dustbin, refills its water tank and washes and dry the mop pads.

The smart robot vacuums with mop makes use of LIDAR and structured lighting to map out floor plans and spot obstacles. It is more efficient in its navigation than its top competitors. It also comes with a front-mounted camera for real-time hazard detection but this was not 100% foolproof during our tests and was sometimes confused by power cords or other obstructions.

Its vacuum has a high suction maximum of 7,000 Pascals which is more than enough to finish the job. It also features "Intelligent Dirt Detection", which regulates the intensity at which the vacuum works and also alters the frequency of cleaning for different areas of the home according to the degree of dirt they are.

If you own a larger home, you should consider selecting a robot that comes with zones or spot cleaning modes. This lets you inform the robot of which area of your house needs to be cleaned by using the app or voice control. If you have furniture, a stair mode is also a good option. For families that are busy, a recharge feature and resume feature that allows your robot vacuum to resume where it left off can be extremely useful.

iRobot RX3

The RX3 is more advanced than its price would suggest. It does a stellar job vacuuming, picking up 55% of the debris that was found in our tests (it was second only to the Roomba Q5 Pro). It also mopses with one pad that has a reciprocating motion, best robot hoover which is cleaner than the other robot mop cleaners we've tested. It's also highly self-sufficient, with a fully-featured application, and a self-emptying, washable base.

The iRobot application is designed to help you navigate an exercise in mapping, which gathers information on your floorplan, as well as any "no go" areas that you've marked on the map. It can be used to create cleaning schedules, or to create an automatic spot-clean. You can also use it to prioritize your dirtiest areas to improve performance. The app also gives access to many features like seasonal suggestions, custom maps and advanced settings for your cleaning.

Its shape is more rectangular than other robot vacuums, meaning it can get to corners and underneath furniture more easily. It features a powerful 8000 Pascal suction as well as sophisticated combs that remove pet hair. You can also set up a spot-clean that will thoroughly clean an area.

The Miele Scout RX3 Home Vision HD is a more sleek and less expensive alternative to the iRobot Roomba. It has a more attractive, Dolce & Gabbana-esque design and its twin cameras look like cute eyes. It is excellent at vacuuming, however it is more likely to be caught on low thresholds. It also has a higher noise than other top robot vacuums that we've examined. It also has a less intuitive app and a small base station that doesn't double as a bin for emptying.
