1. Engine Speed Sensor

The sensor is used to link with the G40 Camshaft position Sensor. The ecu must know when the crankshaft has reached TDC and also the position of the camshaft, to trigger the spark and injectors.

It is a little tricky to test since there are different pins on the connector and each one has different functions. The best way to do it is by measuring the resistance between the ECU and the sensor. It should read about 1000 ohms if the sensor is in full operation. If you are having problems with this part, check for signs of coolant or oil in the connector bay.

2. Injectors

Yesterday, while accelerating from the highway paytoll at maximum speed I noticed a massive drop in power. It was as if the engine was running out of gas. Or, my injectors weren't firing. This morning i pull out the spark plugs, 3 were drenched with gazoline the fourth was dry. I put a piece of tissue over each hole in the injector and when I start the engine without sparks, the 3 with gazoline jump out. The 4th one remains closed. I tried to test the ground connections of ECU pins 14,30 and 48/55. I found 0ohm. I'm assuming the issue is in another place.

I also tried to reset PID without success. The car is able to start when the G28 is disconnected and runs fine when it is connected however it is experiencing intermittent misfires at higher RPM. The coolant sensor (G62), even when unplugged, still shows a temperature of -49c. I also noticed that the gauge for oil pressure in the cockpit shows 2 bar while the actual pressure is 0.0 when I crank up the engine.

I'm not certain what to do, but i feel i have pretty much ruled out everything else. I'm worried that i might have missed something. If anyone has any suggestions, please chime in! TIA!

3. Fuel Pump

The fuel pump in the g28 receives signals from the RPM sensor. The GM-style transmitter is identical to the G4 sender and works on the 80,100,200, UrS, and RS2 vehicles.
